Artists Trading Cards

These ATC is for I Love Rubber Stamps yahoo group swap. The requirements for this swap was Blue, Ribbon and Pearls. I used the Magnolia Tilda Stamping from Adopt A Stamp Collection 2012, Love Heart from the Love 2009 and a miscellaneous Love stamp that I have had for to long to remember where it came from.
The distressed inks I used were faded jeans and Brocken China and then crumpling up card stock and sprayed it with water and dried it out with the heat gun. I then stamped the Love magnolia background stamp on it with versa mark and embossed it with clear powers. I also used stamping up chocolate chip on the bottom half of my ATC. Then I distressed it some more and I added Pear Ex Pigments just to try them out witch I liked  worked a lot like the perfect pearls.
For the ribbon banner I used station that was about about 2" wide so I folded it in half and used a lighter to seal it on the edges and I did this all the way around the ribbon. Then I folded it to the shap I wanted and used the lighter to mold the shap and get it to stay in the shap I wanted. This was supper hard and I was totally unsure if it was going to work. Once it was shaped I stamped it with the stamping up Chocolate chip. I used some lace I got at Hobby Lobby and the pearl flower stickers I found at Walmart that I absolutely LOVE.
Markers: copics: R20, V01, V04, E000, E13, E15, E51, E21, W1 and Prisma Color Pink
For the birds ATC I used paper from Kirby Teesdale Studio pack that were scraps from my other project. I used the stamp Bird Swing from Sylvia Zet collection at Whimsy Stamps. I used all Prisma Colors: Light Cerulean Blue, Cerulean Blue, Ture Green Apple Green, tulip Yellow, Dienna Brown, and Cool Gray 30% I used the same pearl like flowers and some misc ribbon from my stash.

I know these are not the usual ATC you see but I don't do many ATC and these were my first so I think they turned out pretty cute. Anyways, thanks for stopping by my blog and visiting please leave a comment, love to hear what you think.

End of the School Year Teacher Gifts

It's so close to the end of the year and I really didn't do a lot for my daughters teachers this year. Mainly because it's kind of hard with a baby, but I have an awesome husband that I'm so grateful for his new job. We get to see him so much more now then before, he practically missed out on the first year of our second daughter life. So on to this gift I made for my daughter math teacher, I used some recycled items that I had around the house, a Gerber Learn to Pick Up Snack tin 1.48oz (42g) and 3 TP rolls they are the perfect height no cutting needed. I also used Magnolia Autumn Tilda with Pencils from the Turning Leaves 2012 collection. I just feel in love with this paper I bought at Hobby Lobby from Kirby Teesdale Studio pack just sooo many beautiful papers. I then distressed the edges with pumice stone.
I used my adobe software and created the math problems, just printed out these and then used my spellbinders LG Deckled Rectangles to cut them out to look like little flash cards. Then I distressed the cards using antique linen and vintage photo on the edges. I used The Paper Studio Spare Parts Brights and assorted flowers from the stems that I got at Hobby Lobby and took them apart and created new flowers.
For this side I used the digital image from Create with TLC its a beautiful sentiment that I thought would just work so lovely with this project. I stamped the border with Stampabilities Ornate Frame 02 also found this at Hobby Lobby stamped it with ink from Stampin Up! Eggplant Envy beautiful color but if you don't have it you could use distress ink aged mahogany they are very similar in color. I also used archival pins to trace the writing over because when you distress over printed papers and inks they ten to bleed out a little. This is the down fall that I have I encountered when using print outs. The little Owl button is from Sew-Ology found in the sewing department at Hobby Lobby and I just cut out a small yellow beak to add to it. The ruler stamp is stamped with Stampin Up! Chocolate chip from Tim Holtz collection Seamless Experience stampers anonymous. It worked so great with this project, I used the same distressed inks used on the flash cards.
For Tilda I started with a Prisma Color Tuscan Red but I didn't like it to well to me it was just too dark so I then used a brush and water and colored her dress in with distress ink aged mahogany and perfect pearls mist forever red. I used copics for the rest of her. I then cut her out and layered her on a lavender card stack of paper and used 3m tape to give her dimension.

I had so much fun making this project I just loved this new paper I got at the Hobby Lobby this week. It was so fun to make and I am so looking forward to gifting it the last day of school.
Supplies used in my card:
Inks: Distress Inks: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Pumice Stone
Stampin Up: Chocolate chip, Eggplant Envy
Memento tuxedo black
Stamps: Magnolia Autumn Tilda with Pencils from the Turning Leaves 2012, and digital image from Create with TLC

Nautical Card and May Giveaway!!

Here is the new card that I have made with the Magnolia Peal Tilda Summer memories 2012 stamp that I am giving away this month. The theme for this card was for the card swap on I Love Rubber Stamping ! This was a unique size card to do in my opinion because it was not symmetrical. I wanted to make sure it had lots of tulle and sparkle. I used two digital print outs from Shabby Princess Barefoot Collection the gold brackets on the sides and the background paper behind Tilda I used print out paper from the Penelope Collection. I used distress inks to create the colors on the die cutes coming out behind the main image. I also stamped it with Versa mark and embossed it with Stampin Up embossing powders.
I had to use hot glue to attach everything to the card and I curled the ends of the His & Hers embellishments to add more to the enmeshments on the sides.  I used some Christmas ribbon that I bought from Jo Anna's it has a wirer in the middle and I folded it in the middle and pleated it.
THE GIVEAWAY: Ok so here is the giveaway stamp it is a Magnolia Peal Tilda Summer Memories 2012 it's slightly defected in the hair see arrow, the lines don't connected completely and leaves a gap. My April Card Challenge

So here is my April Card Challenge that I set for myself this month the theme I went with was music because of the swap that I am doing on I Love Rubber Stamping on Yahoo Groups. It took a while to make it and get it ready for the swap but I am pretty happy with the out come. I used a lot of different things here and it took a while to get the trial and error down before I got to this point on this card.

When I started this project I thought I would do the mask layering like I usually do by Stamping my main image cutting out a scrap and masking that one out to stamp the other and so on. It failed many times and I was getting tired of trying to figure out what was wrong so I stepped away and went on to bed. The next day I sat down and reevaluated what I was doing wrong because it was time to change this thought. I came up with the pop up look on here using the 3m tape and that worked out so much better. It worked out so well I was able to use Perfect Pearls mist to spray on the heart and give it a more shimmer look. I masked out the surrounding and used Stamping up Ink to blind in the heart with a pink color, and used my scraps to add more music notes behind the piano. I colored Tilda and the piano with copics. (I lost my paper I wrote all of them on.) I used a Stampin up die, spellbinder and my cricut cutter to cut out the card and banner.

This card was supper fun to make, it was great to work on something I enjoyed doing and directed my thoughts to something I want to do, kind of gave me my insanity back a little after being a mom's taxi and having to deal with a 1 year old all day.

Supplies Used
Cuts: Triple Tear Spellbinder, Sizzix Stampin up Bigz top note, Cricut: Cindy Loo and Give a Hoot
Stamps: Magnolia: Noble Tilda & Grand PIano from Raising the Ceiling 2010, Tim Holtz  stampers anonymous collection, Stams Happen, Ink 70049 The magic of music
Extra Elements: His & hers studio floral, perfict pearls powders and mist,  distressed ink, memento ink, and lace, and 3m tape

Getting back in the groove

So it's been a while since I have done anything with my blog and crafting. I done the occasional project here and there just have not really devoted the time to any one craft. I decided this spring brake to go back to card making/paper crafting probably time to start working on the scrapbook too, that kind of fell to the way side. Well I joined this group on yahoo that the first swap was "trees" no rules just your idea of what it would be. I had quite a number of ideas but I just had a hard time pin pointing were to start. This is what I ended up with:

Unfortunately this is the only picture I can get to work at the moment to upload. It was actually pretty fun to make once I was able to set down and give it the time it needed. I don't think it was truly finished but I was afraid of over crowding, and I felt pressured to get it done since the group was already talking about a second swap and I just berry signed up for this one. It is what it is I made it so that the bottom part right under the image would be able to slightly tuck under to make the card stand on it's own, kind of like an aisle card but not quit. Hope you enjoy, and I hope to get more up here for all to see.

Supplies Used:
Magnolia Stamps: Tilda with her Kookaburra from the Australia Collection 2012 and Magnolia Branch from Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011
Punch: Martha Stewart Edger Punch Doily Lace
Dies: Magnolia Doohickey Tilda Lace and the Wild Rose Studio Specialty Die Little Butterfly
Papers: I used 2 unknown scraps and the background and foreground from The Green Stack 70% Recycled Paper 2008 DCWV Ink Premium Stacks

May Scrappers Delight Challenge

Today I am sharing with you a New Project I did for Mothers Day, the Idea was taken from the Challenge we were doing on our Facebook Page Scrappers Delight. Please join us on our next online even may it be a Challenge or a Swap. The May Challenge was to take two different brands of stamps and bring them together to create a new.

So here it is, I been doing quite a lot of sewing here lately instead of scrapbooking and all I decided to make myself something to hang on the wall or door to my crafting room. I had this old handing sign laying around that I used when I had my old business Amber’s Paw Stop and I thought it was about time I stared to recycle it. I painted it white I don’t remember how many coats I had to put on to cover the old paint that we had on it. Then I attempted to do the technique where you use Mod Pudge to transfer printed Images onto a serface this kept going wrong and I finally gave up my attempt to transfer the Mom’s Creative Corner onto the wood.

So I decided I would make a trip to Hobby Lobby and see what they had out for Mother’s Day and well, I didn’t find anything that interested me till I found the Tim Holtz section! WOW that was inspiring for sure this was a NEW section at my Hobby Lobby! I purchased his stamps with sewing and his Die Cute for the Cuttlebug, witch by the way I still love using! I finally had some creative flowing coming through. I originally purchased the little flowers I used for my daughters Fairy Costume I was making to match her American Girl Doll costume I made. I thought they seemed to fit nicely in this project too!

For images I used Magnolia Tilda Sweet Rainbow Coll. - Sweetie Tilda along with Shery K Designs vintage-furniture 006 and I merged GraphicFairy sewing printable vintage image all together to create the right side. I colored the image using a few different copic markers. For the background I just stamped right onto the wood using Tim Holtz stamps and his distress inks with his new spray. I found the spool of thread already decorated in my mix of things I had from when I was a little girl (been trying to clean house too.) Well I hope this projected inspired you to go out and try new things even if they don’t come out the way you intend you can make something else out of it and it can still be beautiful!

Happy Crafting,

Tiddly Inks

So I have been doing some playing around with Digi Stamps and Digi Kits for Scrapbooking, when I made my card for the post below (see here) I used lots of digi papers. That had me thinking what else I could create with these papers. I have always printed out digi stamps and colored them in with my Copic Markers. Well, I have been unable to afford the purchase of these wonderful markers for some time now, I started thinking what if I tried coloring the digi in Adobe Photoshop and then using them on cards or in other Digi projects. So this was my first attempt on coloring a digi stamp and this is what it came out looking like.
I used Tiddly Inks Annie Has Pie Digi Stamp, this was her freebee for Thanksgiving but if you happened to miss out she has it for sale on her website, along with some other really cute other digi stamps. You can find the pie in her Yummy Paper Set I just added it onto this image here. Like to hear what you think of the image above I tried to color it in using a smooth shading tool, but this was my first try on it so it is what it is. Open to suggestiongs, please, or maybe if anyone like to know how to do this.

This stamp was donated by 7kidscollegefund but can’t be returned to her. She can’t do anything about this defect other than trash it so instead of just throwing it out we thought we would give it away; Maggie’s are just too sweet to just throw them out and the defect is not that bad!

Were having a Summer Theme Blog Hop

Hi ladies we over at Scrappers Delight has decided to host a Summer Theme Blog Hop starting on June 24th to July 8th. We are currently taking names of those that would like to take part in the hop and have their projects with their blogs on the list to be visited.

We will be giving away one Magnolia Stamp as one of the prizes.

You would be required to post one project based on a Summer Theme onto your blog on the 24th June. Somewhere within you post you will be asked to display a letter, that each follower will be collecting (the letter will include a scrapbooking element). You will then link your blog to the next Blog Hop member on the list; the last Blog Hop member on the list will link back to the main blog.

If you are able to participate in the hop, please respond to this post or email rebeccalevan81@yahoo.com. Once we have an idea of how many Blog Hop members are taking part, we will post up more information regarding what should be included in your posts, which letter you’re going to post and what the final word will be, deadline for blog candy to be posted to myself Rebecca so this can be photographed ready and links to other blog hops to give you an idea of how they are run.

Thanks for your time, this would be a perfect way to have our little group on Socialgo Network noticed and more followers to our blog.

First Watercolor Media Card

This card I made for a friend that is on her way to a better life. She just had the procurer done where they put the band around your inner stomach so you don’t eat as much anymore. She has already lost 25 pounds before she even went in for it; do to all the fasting they had her do! I hope for the best in her transformation and I want her to do good so this card is for her encouragement to start feeling good about herself!
So I have been playing with other Medias to color my Magnolia stamps just like to experiment with other Medias and how they work. So far I have tried Prism color Pencils and they were ok but I just could not get the colors to blind correctly. I will probably try them again before I put the color pencils away! This was my attempt at coloring with Derwent Watercolor Pencils, not to bad if I do say so myself. I really enjoyed this media so much that I actually started working on another card using the Watercolor Pencils too. So we have not seen the last of this media for me! I also used some distress inks with blinder on the edges of my paper. I used my Gypsy along with my Cricut Expression to make lots of the cuts here. I just love all the creativity you can do with the Gypsy! Magnolia stamps are just lovely to make all these projects come alive!

My first Aisle Card

So I made this card for my sister in laws birthday and it was my first attempt to make the aisle cards that stand up for display. I used the Magnolia Tilda Stamp blowing Fairy Dust since it reminded me of Blowing out the candles to make your birthday wish. I also used my Home Decor Cricut Cartridge and my Cuddle Bug for the embossing. I can’t remember what the name of the paper that I used in the background it has little squiggly lines in the back ground like candle smock, I thought it went well with the card. My sister in law got it for my birthday a few years ago and there is not much of it left. I tend to use it a lot… :)
