Meet our New Member of our Design Team:

Hi All~ I'm Christine and am from the wonderful state of Michigan. I live "up north", but not up north enough for my family as we love to camp and hike and enjoy being outdoors.

I started scrapbooking many years ago when my friend because a Creative Memories lady. After that I kind of got busy with kids and all and really didn't do much. Then about 2.5 years ago I fell in love with Stampin' Up! and became a demo. The rest, as they say, is history. I love making cards and scrapbooking. It is my favorite way to destress after a long day as a fourth grade teacher.

I have been crafting for years, grew up with it! I am inspired by nature and my children. I love autumn colors and you will see those most frequently in my work.
I live with my dear husband, who patiently puts up with my papercrafts, and my 4 teenage children. We also have a variety of pets that keep us happy and hopping!
I look forward to getting to know everyone and being creative with you all. I firmly believe that creativity is the way to a more fulfilled and happy life!

Scrap Live with Friends

So within Scrappers Delight we have a group called Scrap Live with Friends. January 23 we are going to learn how to make this page. It's technically not a scrapbook page but it can be used as a page. This is going to be used as a Calendar for my family for Christmas presents this year. I intend on putting the dates of everyone’s Birthdays on the calendars.

So here it is:

I used my Gypsy to cut out the Scallops at the bottom of the page found on the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge, the Cheers New Year Margarita, 2011, New Years Day from Designer's Calendar, and the Fireworks are from the Wild Card cartridge. The stamp bear is from the Forever Friends, The Original Very Cute Bear was a free stamp from do Crafts a UK magazine. The picture is one I tock from this year’s New Years Fireworks downtown San Antonio, TX. I also used Copic markers a good handful learning how to color the bear and shadow the cut: B24 Sky, R02 Flesh, R39 Garnet, E00 Skin White, E31 Brick Beige, Y26 Mustard, E57 Light Walnut, RV11 Pink. I mixed with a permint marker on the Margarita glass light blue and used green for the olives. The Designer paper is from Recollections: mom’s diner Salt

More from our Design Team:

Hi i`m Tracy and i am so excited to be on the DT here at Scrappers Delight!
My husband and i live here in Scotland with our two teenage boys and two mad dogs. We have known each other for over 23y and been married for 21 of those years.
I love spending time with my family and all the mayhem and madness that involves, we are a mad bunch but in a nice way so i am told.

I love to create and always put a little bit of my heart into each project that i make as a gift for that special someone in my life.

I have crafted for as long as i can remember and my main love is working with pretty papers for cardmaking, scrapbooking and altered art. When i get the chance you will find me in my shed in the garden with papers, buttons, ribbons galore on every available surface...bliss indeed.

My inspiration comes from magazines, books, adverts, inspiring blogs but most of all my "papers" they seem to have a life of there own and know just what they want to be made into.

I have been lucky to have one of my cards published, be a runner up a few years ago in the "scrapbooker of the year" competition and last year won the competition for "altered art from the heart" i was over the moon and all with scrapbook magazine.
I am so looking forward to being part of the DT here on Scrappers Delight and sharing all the fun we are going to have here with you all.
Happy crafting!!!

My name is Mandy and I am currently living in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, but moved here when I met my husband. My family is the most important thing to me, and I am a stay at home mom of three beautiful children ages 10, 9, and 1. I began scrapbooking several years ago when I realized that I had hundreds of pictures and no place to put them. Photography has always been one of my biggest hobbies...but what does one do with all those photos and portraits?? Creating a scrapbook was a way not only for me to have a creative outlet and retain my sanity, but also for my children to have a nice keepsake. Hopefully someday they will appreciate all of the effort I have put into it. I love all types of crafting, including scrapbooking, cardmaking, crocheting and even sewing! My favorite projects to work on are cards and mini photobooks. I take inspiration wherever I can find it. Many times I will just see a pretty paper or stamp and think "oh! I know what to do with this!". I am really excited to be a part of the design team and look forward to sharing my creations.

I live in Indianapolis, Indiana with my hubby and ten fur babies. Two of them my St. Bernard Clowns. I started scrapping about a year ago and then got into card making and creating Atc's. My background is of dance but because of an unfortunate motorcycle accident I had to stop dancing professionally. I needed a creative outlet and that's what lead to scrapbooking and other paper crafts.

I am the owner of Robyns' Fetish.. Home of the Digital Stamp and Sticker. We sell of coarse Digital Stamps and more. I also have a challenge blog and give away on Wednesdays our Wacky Wednesday Freebie. I have a Design Team that consists of 12 very talented ladies who are wonderful.

Meet me and more of our Design Team Members

Hello and Welcome to my blog!! My name is Rebecca and I live in San Antonio, TX. I am the administrator of this blog and the community Scrappers Delight located on the Ning network. I was always interested in the arts. When I was a little girl my grandmother started me out in painting and from then I went on and learned other art skills from dancing, jewelry making, ceramics, mosaics and others. When I was in High School I took Art classes and I enjoyed them for the most part I think it became more fun as I took art classes in College. I started out in drawing then paining and then I tock Design and last Art History. I loved all these classes!! They were so fun; if I were to go back to school today I would have to have some kind of art class on my schedule. I was going to school to become an Art Teacher, life has happened and I got married and have a little girl and can’t afford the cost of school, let alone the time. My friends with in the community and having all the fun things for them planned for this year helps to feel that dream in my life, it’s not teaching but its fun!!

I would have to say that I really got into the crafting was probably right after my little girl was born in 2008. I felt like this is a life that I want to keep recorded of her growths and many adventures within her life. As much as I like scrapbooking I would have to say that I really enjoy making cards. They are so fun and easy to proper!

I get inspiration from little things, sometimes it can be just a ribbon, a stamp, a die cut, and color. I do like looking throw craft magazines, YouTub, browsing blogs, and of course my friends photos in our community! This is all great inspiration, and sometimes I may take one thought and expand on it or mix it with someone else thought to make one new one.

I would have to say that my paper crafting abilities have defiantly improving! I find that doing the swaps on our community really helps because sometimes you can get great thoughts and inspiration just from someone else cards, how they assemble something, how they did something, and just being able to ask the sender questions. Practice makes Perfect so everyone has the opportunity to learn and get better, and develop their own skills and personality with in there own work.

Hi there! My name is Erin Smetak. I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids ages 5, 3 and 7 months.

My Background: I have been stamping and scrapbooking for 7 years. I started scrapbooking first when making a scrapbook of my honeymoon. Then, my friend held a Stampin' Up! party in her home, but I left there without purchasing any stamps and feeling that it would be a very expensive hobby. That same friend had a party a few months later, and after that party, I left with a long purchase receipt! The stamping bug had bitten me after all! It has taken me 7 long years to cultivate my crafting into something that people can actually enjoy! Those first cards are just awful! But, I have really grown as a stamper by doing challenges, and being open to suggestion and criticism. I have served on 2 design teams, 1 I am still on, AiFactory (digital stamps). And now this new one! Thanks Rebecca for this wonderful opportunity!

To New Stampers: Do not be intimidated by what others have created, instead be inspired by it! Take pictures of everything that you create. This way, you can go back and laugh at yourself and see how far you have grown and marvel at how your style has been cultivated!

What I Like to Work With: I am a cardmaker by trade. I try to fit a scrapbook page in at least once a year! LOL! They take SO long! And I really have to be motivated or challenged to create a scrapbook page. I put a lot of detail and thought into each page, thus the reason they take too darn long! I also love to alter items! My current favorite is making recipe boxes out of file boxes found at local office supply stores. I have even sold a few!

What Inspires Me: I am always open to inspiration. Especially color combinations. I love looking through catalogs at bedding sets, and even clothes have neat designs that I can take and apply to my cards. I also love architectural mags. where I can visualize layouts and see color combos. I also like to blog surf when I have the time, and take several ideas from several different blogs and put them together in 1 card. And most of all I love the thrill of a challenge! Give me a jumping off point and I'm as happy as a clam!

What do I Love About Stamping? 1. It's my creative outlet. I have always been artsy, but this is so much more. I can get crazy or subdued; go vintage or stay classic; go grunge or get whimsical. 2. I love coming up with new card ideas! I don't believe I have ever made the same card twice, as long as I've been stamping. Unless of course I'm making sets. 3. I love the finished product! I often sit down not knowing what the end result will be, and am always pleasantly surprised at the outcome! I'll often say that I can't wait to see how something will end up! LOL! 4. The thrill of simply creating! I just love to sit at my desk and just create. Even if I'm just playing around with a new set or an old one! 5. I have met some of my very best friends through this wonderful hobby! And thank God for the internet! I have friends all over the world! How amazing!!!!

So now that we are acquainted, go get your stamps and paper or pictures and paper if you're a scrapper, and come get crafty with us! We are going to have LOTS of fun this year!!!!!

My name is Jasmine Wilmany. I live in Southern California with my husband and two daughters.

I love to paint flowers onto canvas using oils or acrylics. But I spend more time on my love for paper crafting. It has endless possibilities. Paper is strong, yet delicate at the same time. I started paper crafting before it was called paper crafting. I have a passion for making different works of art by using the same materials.

Hey fellow scrap addicts!! My name is Niki_Ray I am a legal assistant by day and a scrap addict at night. I am a mother of three 11, 4 and 2 years old and a wife to my high school sweetheart for 13 years now. I first started scrapbooking in 1998 when my eldest was born and that was 8x11 and on construction paper…and I used Elmer’s glue…Hey that use to be ok. Then I went to a CM party with my SIL and my eyes were opened and the rest is history. In the last 2 years I have steered toward card making more then scrap booking and found that I absolutely love BOTH!!! I am so excited to start this adventure with Scappers Delight and cannot what to see where we are headed to next. I am currently a member of the design team If its Groovy as a card artist at ifitsgroovy.blogspot.com or you can hope on over and give me a holler on my blog at: nikiraysniche.blogspot.com Thanks again to Scrappers Delight for the chance and I cannot wait to get scrappin!! XoXo Niki_Ray

Meet the Scrappers Delight Design Team

Today I have a few of our members tell us a little about themselves. Please take the time to meet some of the ladies that will be producing projects for our Sponsors.

Hi, I’m Jude i live in the UK married for 8yrs to a wonderful friend and solemate, I have 2 beautiful daughters. I got into crafting soon after i had my 1st daughter. I wanted to fill my time i originally started off by decorating terracotta pots !then someone said to me I should make cards to go with them as they make lovely gifts so bingo I got into the wonderful world of paper crafting. Now I’m into scrapbooking, altered art, Stamping and will try my hand at most things. In 1998 I dislodged my pelvis badly and had to medically retire from my post as senior nurse in A&E. So with Hubby's help he built me a website from there my life changed forever my hobby turned into a business ,and Dragonfly-crafts-online.com was My site proved popular and within a year had over 1000 customers many regular.

This was very busy successful craft business until 2006 when I was diagnosed with ME/CFS unfortunately by beginning of 2009 I had to give the business up due to my health as I couldn’t cope with the everyday work that was involved, I was so busy my health stopped me from running the business as my ME was so bad i was sleeping 21hrs a day and just hadn’t the energy to do anything bar sleep!

I still miss doing all the craft fairs throughout the year especially on the American air bases nearby and various craft fairs throughout the country.
Now I will try my hand at anything, as I love all sorts of crafting not just cards. I am now going back to selling all my surplus stock left over from my crafting business on eBay & esty ,but at least this way I can pace myself to how much work I do, plus it gets rid of all this surplus craft stock I still have from website.

Since I started crafting my knowledge and creativity has improved no end finding I’m learning new techniques daily and still enjoy my now hobby.

I have promised myself this year I’m going to try some more new techniques and experiment along the way. With more crafting tools coming onto the market so tempting it is to buy and try these out! But also I have promised, myself this New Year my craft room will be organized and tidy!!! Yeah right I hear you all say...lol
so hope this gives you a wee insight into my crafting life
hugs judex

So Who am I?

My Name is Andria and I am based in the Lake District Cumbria (United Kingdom). I am truly blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world. I have mountains and lakes to oneside and beaches and sea to the other. On a very clear day I can see the Isle Of Man and Scotland.

What About Crafting?

I started crafting as a hobby about 4 years ago now, using basic card making kits from "Lakeland" and various websites, I then subscribed to various magazines and became a member of a craft forum and my skills and techniques developed. I started giving my cards to friends and family and they admired them so much they started buying them from me. My website www.iona-rosedesigns.com opened in April 2009 and is slowly building up a good little reputation and customer base.

I have since set up my blog and wow, the inspiration out there has led me to develop my skills and passion for rubber stamping.

What do I love so much about rubber stamping?

Well apart from the hundreds of images available for any occasion, all you need is a little colour and the whole image comes to life, they can be used on cards, scrapbooking and my other passion for stamps is personalising candles. I am learning all the time, i have recently invested in pro-markers and i'm developing my colouring and shading skills.

How Did You Become Involved With Scrappers Delight?

I joined Scrappers Delight on Flickr and followed them over to Ning. It is a really friendly group and we have so many exciting and inspirational swaps planned for 2010. Rebecca runs the group and has worked really hard in securing some fantastic sponsors for us this year.

And Finally...

My advice to any newcomer either to the craft or blogging world is don't be shy, join in with groups, show us your work, but most importantly of all, learn...Create....and have fun.

Hi, I'm Lori and I live in southern Maine with my husband of 25 years. We have two grown daughters--Valerie, age 24 who is an Occupational Therapist at a local hospital and Jaclyn, age 21, who is developmentally delayed but works part-time at McDonalds. She is also my scrapping partner. In 2008, my husband and I adopted his bio-grandson, Zachery, so now I'm a mom to an 11 year old boy!

I've been scrapping since I was 9 years old--using those large, heavy, often cumbersome wallpaper books. Then 12 years ago, I was introduced to Creative Memories and well, the rest is history! I fell in love with the craft. I love everything about it. As I developed my skills as a scrapbooker, I also discovered new friends on line and found support and advice along the way. Last February I started a blog, http://scrapmomsmusings.blogspot.com/ which has grown to 83 followers! I blog about my everyday life, post tutorials of things I feel my followers would enjoy viewing (they come from You Tube and are not my own as I don't have a video camera!); as well as step-by-step tutorials of paper crafts I've created; and share my knowledge of the craft in hopes of inspiring others. I've been published twice in Memory Makers which was one of my dreams and it finally came true. I've also won several contests over the years--the most recent being at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Manchester, NH 2009. I find inspiration all around me--from the colors of clothes, textures of nature, interior design, and of course, the many talented scrappers on line.

I love to learn and so I'm always on the computer searching for new sites and new blogs that will help me grow. I don't want to become stagnant and bored as has happened with other hobbies in the past. Besides creating layouts, I also create altered items and other paper crafts. The one thing I'm not that good at is card-making. I envy those who can create such gorgeous cards! My other hobbies include photography, reading, cooking, writing, crafting and collecting vintage items for my home. Other interests include camping, hiking, kayaking (I love the outdoors during the warmer seasons), visiting museums, going to the beach, watching old movies, and drinking coffee!

I would love for you to visit me at A Scrapmom's Musings.
