Just for fun Postcard

I made this card for a sweet friend I meat on Ebay. Yes it reminds me of that weird song from Weid Al Yankovic; I found it on eBay. She has become a friend that we swap inspiration between photos throw the phone. It's amazing how friendships can begin.

On to the card now for this postcard I used Tilda playing hopscotch from the Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011, and stampin up houses from 2004 the sky background from magnolia ink and the doohickey fence from the volume 6 catalog. I also embellished with The paper Studio Spare Parts flowers and embossing powder from Hampton Art. I also used 3mm tape to provide dimension into the card.

For this side I used Penny Black Postcard stamp 1369L, a rear stampers anonymous stamp E2-514 and Catslife Press 683 stamp. The background paper that the postcard is sewn onto is from The paper studio Olivia's sweet shop.

Probably will also include some goodies I have in my stash that hopefully she can use. The girl has way more magnolia stuff then me so what do you gift a friend that has everything. It's really hard to come up with something but I'm sure I will.

Thanks for visiting my blog have a happy 4th of July.

Pieces Tilda just for fun

This project I did for my daughter and it was really just a quickie put together. The other night when I had my Magnolia Doohickey's out she minchined to me that the Poinsetta flower die looked like a star fish. I started to think about it and she is totally right it very well could be. So I wanted to play with my watercolor pencils that I am now totally hooked on. I thought why not do something for my daughter as a sweet surprise.
So I started to coloring the Pisces tilda from the zodiac collection and let the imagination flow. I missed out on the doohickey club vol. 1 so I really was stretching for ideas. Well these little leaves could look like coral or maybe sea weed if I emboss them with the folders.
I used gold perfect pear mist on the star fish and one of the Doohickey dies from the Oh La La collection vol. 3. The other dies are Spellbinder Triple Tear, and the seahorse is from My Momenta Lot 005177 Sea. I found the seahorse at hobby lobby on clearance one day when I was out shopping and at the time just had to get it. Comes with the embossing to match the cut.
I used lots of destress ink pads and cuttlebug, sizzix embossing folders. I used a Stempelglede stamp that I embossed and then distressed over. Came out pretty cute.

supplies:
Distress markers: dried marigold, tumbled glass, weathered wood, squeezed lemonade, antique linen, spun sugar, milled lavender, shabby shutters

Last Teacher Project of the Year

This gift was for my daughters reading teacher. There is a lot of things I did on this one that I really liked. I just loved this school girl Tilda Reading a Book I forgot at the moment what collection she is from. I colored her with copies on the skin and distress markers and prisma. Interesting combination but I was exsperminting and it didn't look bad so I went ahead and used it.
So this is my favorite side, I used the Books w/Wrappers from Spring Summer collection 2008 magnolia stamp. The little Catapillar is from Shabby Princess, and her site is no longer working, but it's a digital download that I have had for a long time. I versa mark the Catapillar and embossed it, I also embossed thee books too match.

Now as you turn the canister you will see these a,e,I,o, & u cards I made. I went too big on them and should have kept them all smaller. I cut them out using spellbinders LG Deckled Rectangles. Since I made them too large this side not my favorite but I did try something different on them after I distressed the cards I used Tim Holtz.... I also embellished with spare part flowers and other stem flowers that I got from hobby lobby.

For this side I used the same sentiment I did on the last one from Create with TLC http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/2015/04/friday-freebie-word-art.html

Supplies used that I can remember, I know I am probably missing more but I just wanted to get this post posted. Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

Artists Trading Cards

These ATC is for I Love Rubber Stamps yahoo group swap. The requirements for this swap was Blue, Ribbon and Pearls. I used the Magnolia Tilda Stamping from Adopt A Stamp Collection 2012, Love Heart from the Love 2009 and a miscellaneous Love stamp that I have had for to long to remember where it came from.
The distressed inks I used were faded jeans and Brocken China and then crumpling up card stock and sprayed it with water and dried it out with the heat gun. I then stamped the Love magnolia background stamp on it with versa mark and embossed it with clear powers. I also used stamping up chocolate chip on the bottom half of my ATC. Then I distressed it some more and I added Pear Ex Pigments just to try them out witch I liked  worked a lot like the perfect pearls.
For the ribbon banner I used station that was about about 2" wide so I folded it in half and used a lighter to seal it on the edges and I did this all the way around the ribbon. Then I folded it to the shape I wanted and used the lighter to mold the shape and get it to stay in the shape I wanted. This was supper hard and I was totally unsure if it was going to work. Once it was shaped I stamped it with the stamping up Chocolate chip. I used some lace I got at Hobby Lobby and the pearl flower stickers I found at Walmart that I absolutely LOVE.
Markers: copics: R20, V01, V04, E000, E13, E15, E51, E21, W1 and Prisma Color Pink
For the birds ATC I used paper from Kirby Teesdale Studio pack that were scraps from my other project. I used the stamp Bird Swing from Sylvia Zet collection at Whimsy Stamps. I used all Prisma Colors: Light Cerulean Blue, Cerulean Blue, Ture Green Apple Green, tulip Yellow, Dienna Brown, and Cool Gray 30% I used the same pearl like flowers and some misc ribbon from my stash.

I know these are not the usual ATC you see but I don't do many ATC and these were my first so I think they turned out pretty cute. Anyways, thanks for stopping by my blog and visiting please leave a comment, love to hear what you think.

Another teacher gift FOR SALE

For this gift I was in quite the hurry so I didn't get good pictures of this one. One of my moms friends sow the last one I just made and wanted to try selling them in her shop.
I used Longing Tilda from Fairytale 2010 and Books w/Wrappers from Spring Summer 2008. This canister had a little defect in the seal so I added some lace around the seal to cover it, up worked out pretty good. I also added these cute little crayon stamped images from American Art Stamp LAD-341 Lizzie Anne and the sentiment is from Create with TLC a Friday Freebie, its just soo cute and I had to use it here.
Teachers put in so much hard work to help children be so successful in today's schools and get very little in return, so any good teacher plants the seeds to grow great knowledge in these kids today.

For this side I used Catslife Press stamp no. 462D and Magnolia Bride Bow Doohickeys. This project was so fun to make I enjoy using some of my new stamps that I received this month from eBay and Catslife.

Hope you enjoyed maybe left an impression feel free to leave me a comment I enjoy reading them. Thanks for stopping by.

End of the School Year Teacher Gifts

It's so close to the end of the year and I really didn't do a lot for my daughters teachers this year. Mainly because it's kind of hard with a baby, but I have an awesome husband that I'm so grateful for his new job. We get to see him so much more now then before, he practically missed out on the first year of our second daughter life. So on to this gift I made for my daughter math teacher, I used some recycled items that I had around the house, a Gerber Learn to Pick Up Snack tin 1.48oz (42g) and 3 TP rolls they are the perfect height no cutting needed. I also used Magnolia Autumn Tilda with Pencils from the Turning Leaves 2012 collection. I just feel in love with this paper I bought at Hobby Lobby from Kirby Teesdale Studio pack just sooo many beautiful papers. I then distressed the edges with pumice stone.
I used my adobe software and created the math problems, just printed out these and then used my spellbinders LG Deckled Rectangles to cut them out to look like little flash cards. Then I distressed the cards using antique linen and vintage photo on the edges. I used The Paper Studio Spare Parts Brights and assorted flowers from the stems that I got at Hobby Lobby and took them apart and created new flowers.
For this side I used the digital image from Create with TLC its a beautiful sentiment that I thought would just work so lovely with this project. I stamped the border with Stampabilities Ornate Frame 02 also found this at Hobby Lobby stamped it with ink from Stampin Up! Eggplant Envy beautiful color but if you don't have it you could use distress ink aged mahogany they are very similar in color. I also used archival pins to trace the writing over because when you distress over printed papers and inks they ten to bleed out a little. This is the down fall that I have I encountered when using print outs. The little Owl button is from Sew-Ology found in the sewing department at Hobby Lobby and I just cut out a small yellow beak to add to it. The ruler stamp is stamped with Stampin Up! Chocolate chip from Tim Holtz collection Seamless Experience stampers anonymous. It worked so great with this project, I used the same distressed inks used on the flash cards.
For Tilda I started with a Prisma Color Tuscan Red but I didn't like it to well to me it was just too dark so I then used a brush and water and colored her dress in with distress ink aged mahogany and perfect pearls mist forever red. I used copics for the rest of her. I then cut her out and layered her on a lavender card stack of paper and used 3m tape to give her dimension.

I had so much fun making this project I just loved this new paper I got at the Hobby Lobby this week. It was so fun to make and I am so looking forward to gifting it the last day of school.
Supplies used in my card:
Inks: Distress Inks: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Pumice Stone

Nautical Card and May Giveaway!!

Here is the new card that I have made with the Magnolia Peal Tilda Summer memories 2012 stamp that I am giving away this month. The theme for this card was for the card swap on I Love Rubber Stamping ! This was a unique size card to do in my opinion because it was not symmetrical. I wanted to make sure it had lots of tulle and sparkle. I used two digital print outs from Shabby Princess Barefoot Collection the gold brackets on the sides and the background paper behind Tilda I used print out paper from the Penelope Collection. I used distress inks to create the colors on the die cutes coming out behind the main image. I also stamped it with Versa mark and embossed it with Stampin Up embossing powders.
I had to use hot glue to attach everything to the card and I curled the ends of the His & Hers embellishments to add more to the enmeshments on the sides.  I used some Christmas ribbon that I bought from Jo Anna's it has a wirer in the middle and I folded it in the middle and pleated it.

My April Card Challenge

So here is my April Card Challenge that I set for myself this month the theme I went with was music because of the swap that I am doing on I Love Rubber Stamping on Yahoo Groups. It took a while to make it and get it ready for the swap but I am pretty happy with the out come. I used a lot of different things here and it took a while to get the trial and error down before I got to this point on this card.

When I started this project I thought I would do the mask layering like I usually do by Stamping my main image cutting out a scrap and masking that one out to stamp the other and so on. It failed many times and I was getting tired of trying to figure out what was wrong so I stepped away and went on to bed. The next day I sat down and reevaluated what I was doing wrong because it was time to change this thought. I came up with the pop up look on here using the 3m tape and that worked out so much better. It worked out so well I was able to use Perfect Pearls mist to spray on the heart and give it a more shimmer look. I masked out the surrounding and used Stamping up Ink to blind in the heart with a pink color, and used my scraps to add more music notes behind the piano. I colored Tilda and the piano with copics. (I lost my paper I wrote all of them on.) I used a Stampin up die, spellbinder and my cricut cutter to cut out the card and banner.

This card was supper fun to make, it was great to work on something I enjoyed doing and directed my thoughts to something I want to do, kind of gave me my insanity back a little after being a mom's taxi and having to deal with a 1 year old all day.

Supplies Used
Cuts: Triple Tear Spellbinder, Sizzix Stampin up Bigz top note, Cricut: Cindy Loo and Give a Hoot
Stamps: Magnolia: Noble Tilda & Grand PIano from Raising the Ceiling 2010, Tim Holtz  stampers anonymous collection, Stams Happen, Ink 70049 The magic of music
Extra Elements: His & hers studio floral, perfict pearls powders and mist,  distressed ink, memento ink, and lace, and 3m tape

Getting back in the groove

So it's been a while since I have done anything with my blog and crafting. I done the occasional project here and there just have not really devoted the time to any one craft. I decided this spring brake to go back to card making/paper crafting probably time to start working on the scrapbook too, that kind of fell to the way side. Well I joined this group on yahoo that the first swap was "trees" no rules just your idea of what it would be. I had quite a number of ideas but I just had a hard time pin pointing were to start. This is what I ended up with:

Unfortunately this is the only picture I can get to work at the moment to upload. It was actually pretty fun to make once I was able to set down and give it the time it needed. I don't think it was truly finished but I was afraid of over crowding, and I felt pressured to get it done since the group was already talking about a second swap and I just berry signed up for this one. It is what it is I made it so that the bottom part right under the image would be able to slightly tuck under to make the card stand on it's own, kind of like an aisle card but not quit. Hope you enjoy, and I hope to get more up here for all to see.

Supplies Used:
Magnolia Stamps: Tilda with her Kookaburra from the Australia Collection 2012 and Magnolia Branch from Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011
Punch: Martha Stewart Edger Punch Doily Lace
Dies: Magnolia Doohickey Tilda Lace and the Wild Rose Studio Specialty Die Little Butterfly
Papers: I used 2 unknown scraps and the background and foreground from The Green Stack 70% Recycled Paper 2008 DCWV Ink Premium Stacks
